From Shenzhen to Hong Kong, from the frontier of technology to the practice of finance, from world-class universities to innovation platforms—this summer, students of the School of Economics at Fudan University stepped beyond the classroom and embarked on a Study Trip that bridges academia and industry, the mainland and Hong Kong, the present and the future.
The group visited Tencent's Shenzhen headquarters, the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Jingdong International (Hong Kong) Limited, Hong Kong Cyberport, BC CAPITAL, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As economics moved out of the lecture hall and into enterprises, campuses and the city itself, the concepts found in textbooks began to take on real coordinates. Over the course of those few days, the students observed how technology is reshaping industries, how enterprises respond to global markets, and—through conversations with professors, alumni and industry veterans—rethought their own learning and their futures.

Looking ahead, the School of Economics at Fudan University will continue to build more learning platforms that connect the classroom, the industry and the wider world, helping students broaden their horizons and find their direction within the real workings of economies and societies. The journey goes on. The exploration never ends.
